On Saturday, April 13, I saw one of my favorite artists, Pooh, at Revel. The concert was supposed to start at 7:30pm, but I received an email on Thursday saying it would now begin at 9:00pm. The concert didn't actually start until 9:30pm. During the concert, Pooh's voice cracked a few times and she struggled with hitting the high notes. Her backup singers took over, and she even sang some songs in a different key. It's understandable that everyone has an off day, even your favorite artists. My main issue was that the show felt rushed. She performed from 9:30pm to 10:45-10:50pm. I heard she had another performance at the Taj at 3:00pm on the same day, so her voice probably didn't get the rest it needed. This could explain why her voice cracked and why the show felt rushed. It was a bit disappointing. Hopefully, the next time I see her, the show will meet my expectations for a Pooh concert!
